Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Communications Coordinator to support communications efforts within a tribal government setting. This role provides administrative, organizational, and content support to ensure effective communication of programs, initiatives, and community events. Working closely with the Communications Manager, this position plays a key role in content creation, social media support, event coordination, and internal communications. Located in Valley Center, CA. Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM, $29-33/hr DOE

Key Responsibilities:
-Provide administrative support including scheduling, correspondence, and recordkeeping
-Assist with drafting, editing, and formatting communications such as newsletters, announcements, and reports
-Support social media content creation, scheduling, and basic analytics reporting
-Assist with planning and coordinating events, programs, and community initiatives
-Maintain communications files, databases, and archives
-Coordinate with internal departments to gather information for communications
-Assist with basic graphic design and multimedia content (flyers, presentations, digital assets)
-Process invoices, requisitions, and purchasing tasks using financial systems (e.g., Sage Intacct)

Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-3+ years of experience in administrative support, communications, or a related field
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-Experience supporting digital communications, including social media management, email marketing, and basic graphic design, preferred.
