Description:

OVERVIEW

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the day to day operations the store. He or she is responsible for developing strategies to improve customer service, sales and increase store profitability while maintaining high store standards and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Follow and enforce all Company Policies and established procedure in store operations
• Assist the Retail Operations Manager in maintaining appropriate staffing based on business needs
• Follow daily operating procedures established by the Retail Operations Manager
• Coach, counsel, train and discipline employees as needed
• Create and maintain shift schedules
• Complete daily paperwork and banking duties
• Maintain quality brand image standards
• Analyze and troubleshoot daily close out and shift reports
• Maintain all inventory, stocking and tracking of inventory
• Maintain monthly promotions, insure all POS advertising and signage is properly posted
• Change prices as directed by the Retail Operations Manager
• Customer service as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Retail Operations Manager and Director of Retail

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals
• Ability to follow established processes.
• Experience and understanding of inventory controls
• Ability to operate a computer and associated software
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Strong math skills

Education:

• High School education with some college preferred
• Valid Driver’s license
• Retail experience, convenience store retail experience is preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Able to sit, bend, and reach over head as part of daily office activities
• Able to hear effectively on phone to take messages and answer inquiries
• Able to read documents with fine print.
• Able to use a keyboard
• Able to lift 60+ pounds
• Able to operate a forklift (Farm and Pet Store only)
