Overview
Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a Prior Authorization Specialist to obtain pre-certifications and authorizations for hospital and clinical services, acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, and insurance providers. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and proficient computer and phone skills.
Responsibilities
Secure prior authorizations from insurance companies for all hospital and clinical scheduled procedures, coordinating between patients, physicians, and insurance providers.
Navigate complex insurance regulations and advocate for patients’ needs.
Process paperwork efficiently to ensure all documentation is completed accurately and timely.
What’s Available
Full time, 1.0 FTE – 40 hours/week
Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday, 7 am–5 pm, 8-hour shifts
Remote eligible after in-person training
Starting pay of $19.86/hour + additional compensation for experience
What Youll Need
High School Diploma or equivalent
1–2 years’ experience in healthcare with insurance or prior authorization experience required
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Coding experience and certifications are a plus
