Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a Patient Care Technician to become part of our team of dedicated professionals! As a member of our Magnet-designated Nursing team, you will provide support to the inpatient nursing staff while helping ensure the comfort and safety of our patients and their family members.

M10: Breast & GYN Medical Oncology

M10 is a 43-bed GYN medical oncology unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. The unit primarily cares for women with breast and gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, cervical, and vulvar cancers. The patient population ranges from post-operative recovery to end-of-life care, requiring both acute clinical skills and compassionate support.

Role Overview:

• Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and assist patients in a timely and efficient manner
• Handle patient care situations with a high level of integrity, compassion, and professionalism
• Responsible for taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and collecting specimens
• Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures as needed
• Use basic computer and data entry skills to support clinical documentation

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles: Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• OR If less than 2 years of experience: A Nursing Assistant or other healthcare-related certification obtained within the past 12 months, AND At least 1 year of healthcare-related experience in one of the roles listed above
• BLS certification required by time of hire
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY
• Schedule: Nights 7:30pm-8am; Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation

Pay Range: $24.05 - $36.21 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
