JABCO Directional Drilling is seeking qualified Drill Crew Laborer for full time employment in the Central Texas area starting immediately!
Full Job Description: Drill Crew Laborer: A Drill Crew Laborer supports directional drill construction teams. Drill Crew Laborer duties include general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Foreman/Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the loading/unloading of equipment and supplies needed for daily work assignments, setting-up of worksite traffic and safety controls and properly securing work area. Hand dig with shovels, picks, digging bars to expose located utilities, access u/g vaults and pedestals, and complete trenches. Operate jackhammers, air knives, pneumatic boring equipment and powered augers. Place conduit and/or cables in trenches, splice conduit sections (install couplers) as directed, place anchors, pedestals vaults, etc. to complete construction tasks. Fully restore worksite at completion of daily work, refill trenches and holes, tamp soil, replant any plants or shrubs that were disturbed during our construction, place temporary asphalt on streets where excavations have been performed. Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and humidity. Works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions with loud noise levels. Shoring of Trenches: Moves and positions shoring equipment (e.g., hydraulic jacks or aluminum supports) within excavations. Clearing spoils: Maintains a safe workspace by keeping excavated soil and materials at least 2 feet from the edge of the trench. Visibility: Communicates and coordinates with team members while wearing high-visibility safety gear in roadside environments. When required and if appropriately licensed and authorized, drive or operate construction equipment used on the jobsite to complete daily work assignments Clean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for use. Move equipment and tools weighing up to and over 50 lbs. Must be able to traverse or move across uneven terrain. Must be able to detect or identify safety hazards. Must be able to ascend/descend ladders or work atop equipment. And other duties as assigned. Must have current, valid Driver’s license.
