DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in individual tax preparation and a proven ability to handle complex tax scenarios, including business, trust, estate, and nonprofit returns. You will play a key role in managing client engagements, guiding tax planning and research efforts, and mentoring entry-level staff and interns.Responsibilities:• Prepare and review individual federal and state income tax returns with precision and efficiency.• Conduct in-depth tax research and draft comprehensive memoranda and client correspondence.• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and providing expert advice.• Supervise and mentor staff and seasonal interns, reviewing their work and offering constructive feedback.• Manage federal, state, and local tax audits, addressing notices and resolving issues effectively.• Oversee multiple client portfolios, ensuring budgets and production goals are met.• Collaborate on tax planning strategies to optimize client outcomes and minimize liabilities.• Utilize tax software such as CCH ProSystem fx and QuickBooks to streamline processes and ensure accuracy.• Monitor industry developments to stay informed of changes in tax laws and regulations.• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless workflow and client satisfaction.Requirements• Active CPA license is required.• A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in public accounting.• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide team members.• Detail-oriented approach with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.• Proficiency in tax software such as Axcess Tax, Axcess Practice, ProSystem fx Engagement, and QuickBooks is preferred.• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.• Experience with multi-state, estate, and corporate tax compliance is highly desirable.Job typePerm
