Paul Thigpen Automotive Group is now seeking to hire an Automotive Tag & Title Clerk ! As the Tag & Title Clerk you are responsible for reviewing and verifying all documentation pertaining to a customer’s vehicle purchase to ensure that all information is accurate and in line with PTAG compliance guidelines. The role also handles the legal transfer of documents on the customer’s behalf between the dealership and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Responsibilities Examine contracts to assure conformity to specified requirements Review and verify all paperwork/deal jackets are in accordance with PTAG compliance guidelines Review all deals in deal queue for errors Verify all documents are signed and completed accurately Process paperwork in a timely manner Reconcile schedules Post new and used deals to accounting books Issue checks for lien payoffs and submit to financial institutions Communicate and resolve any and all issues with Accounting Manager Post any corrections daily if necessary Process all new vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled Prepare tax and title documents Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles Verify that funds have been collected before processing title applications Comply and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title work Stay abreast of county and state title regulation requirements Other duties to be determined by management Qualifications Previous automotive Title Clerk experience preferred Previous automotive Billing Clerk experience a plus Active Notary Public certification is a plus Effective communication skills Understand deadlines and be able to apply the appropriate sense of urgency to all tasks Automotive accounting or Reynolds experience preferred At least 2 years’ experience working in a busy office environment required Strong attention to detail is required Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and comfortable in an open office is required Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record Must be able to pass pre-employment screen (background) Benefits Insurance: medical, vision, dental Short-term and long-term disability plans Life Insurance Employee discounts on vehicle purchases, parts and service repairs Internal career advancement opportunities Opportunities to join our community service initiatives Paul Thigpen Automotive Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
