Position Title: Safety Team Member (Secondary Safety Coordinator) Department: Safety Reports To: Safety Lead Location: Multi-site (Shop, Field, and Office as needed) Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt Position Summary The Safety Team Member serves as a proactive extension of CMC’s core safety program, supporting our commitment to a safe and productive workplace. Operating with Creativity , Honor , and Respect , this individual collaborates with the Safety Lead and jobsite teams to ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance standards. In this role, the Safety Team Member brings Innovative thinking to problem-solving, contributes Synergistically to field and shop operations, and models Total Ownership by holding themselves and others accountable to high safety standards. This position plays a vital role in embedding our CHRIST values into the day-to-day culture of safety throughout CMC. Detailed Responsibilities Facility Safety Inspections & Audits Conduct routine safety walkthroughs of CMC facilities, shops, and field environments (approx. 3–4 hours per site). Review and audit safety documentation including: Equipment safety sign-off sheets Equipment inspection logs Identify deficiencies or at-risk behaviors and promptly report findings to the Safety Lead and site Supervisors. Ensure corrective actions are documented, assigned, and followed up on in a timely manner. Random Field Trailer Inspections Perform unannounced audits of field trailers for compliance with safety standards, material storage, and housekeeping practices. Document conditions and elevate concerns to appropriate personnel. Estimated time: ~3 hours/week depending on trailer presence. Incident Response & Investigation Assist in the investigation of all incidents, not limited to medical attention cases. Responsibilities include: Interviewing employees and witnesses Capturing photographs and diagrams Assisting in root cause analysis and preventive recommendations Collaborate with the Safety Lead on reporting, documentation, and follow-up actions. Average: 5 hours/week depending on incident volume. Safety Training Development & Tracking Coordinate and disseminate weekly Toolbox Talks or other required safety trainings. Maintain accurate records of attendance and training completion. Work with site leads to ensure team participation. Average: 6 hours/week Employee Check-Ins Meet with new team members at their 60-day milestone to discuss safety integration, progress on safety goals, and gather feedback on their onboarding experience. Provide positive reinforcement and corrective guidance where needed. Estimated: 3 hours/week First Aid Inventory Management Restock and inventory all first aid kits across facilities, trailers, and vehicles. Maintain a supply checklist and notify appropriate staff for reorders. Time required: ~3 hours/week Data Entry & Recordkeeping Maintain digital and physical safety files (incident reports, training logs, audits, etc.) Assist with compliance documentation for OSHA, insurance and internal use. Time estimate: 1–3 hours/week Support for Safety Projects & Special Initiatives Participate in or lead efforts such as: Shop floor layout markings (e.g., pathway lines) AED inspections & fire extinguisher checks Distribution of PPE (hard hats, gloves, glasses) Safety-related improvements or seasonal campaigns Estimated: 2–4 hours/week Travel Between Sites Travel required to support shop, field, and other locations. Coordinate with Safety Lead for coverage or site priorities.
