Our trusted client is looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This is a Contract to permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to oversee strategic purchasing efforts, vendor relationships, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will bring leadership skills and knowledge of procurement systems.
The day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Manage procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
• Oversee the administration of NetSuite and other inventory management systems to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with architects to determine material requirements and ensure all necessary items are sourced promptly.
• Load and maintain part numbers and associated data in procurement systems for efficient operations.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs and improve supplier performance.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess.
• Lead efforts in inventory reconciliation and control, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide leadership and guidance to purchasing team members, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
• Analyze purchasing trends and prepare reports to support decision-making processes.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skillsets:
• Proven experience in purchasing management or procurement roles.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems, particularly NetSuite or similar software.
• Strong understanding of sourcing processes and vendor management.
• Ability to manage and reconcile inventory levels effectively.
• Previous leadership experience with the ability to guide and mentor a team.
• Knowledge of bill of materials (BOM) and inventory planning processes.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and vendors.
