Job Description

Position Summary

The Buyer / Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing purchasing and procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services supporting healthcare operations. This role focuses on vendor management, contract negotiation, and inventory control while partnering with internal stakeholders to meet operational and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day procurement activities for healthcare‑related goods and services
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, including performance monitoring and issue resolution
  • Lead contract negotiation efforts, including pricing, terms, and service agreements
  • Support inventory management processes to ensure appropriate stock levels and minimize disruptions
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align purchasing activities with operational needs
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with internal policies and applicable healthcare regulations
  • Analyze spend data and supplier performance to identify cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities
  • Identify and execute cost‑reduction opportunities through supplier consolidation, competitive sourcing, and disciplined contract negotiations

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in buyer, procurement, or purchasing roles within the healthcare industry
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business, or related field)
  • Proven vendor management experience
  • 3–5 years of contract negotiation experience
  • Hands‑on experience with inventory management processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
