Position: Packer Job Description

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Shift: 2 nd shift 03pm – 1:30am

Location: Santa Teresa, NM

Job Summary
In a warehouse environment, the Packer is responsible for packaging, inspecting, sorting, and preparing raw materials and finished products for shipment while supporting production and warehouse operations. The position works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery and material handling equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort, stack, clean, wash, stock, and inspect cartons, pallets, and parts.
• Package customer orders according to work instructions and shipping requirements.
• Assist with order fulfillment and complete required paperwork accurately.
• Perform visual inspections of products and packaging materials to ensure quality standards are met.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment when trained and authorized.
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the facility.
• Assist machine operators and production personnel as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or damaged materials to supervisors.
• Participate in safety, quality, continuous improvement, and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Train new employees when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse, packaging, manufacturing, or shipping experience preferred.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
• Ability to read work instructions and complete documentation accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, and carrying materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50–70 pounds as required.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment around moving equipment.
• Must wear required PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, high-visibility vest, and steel-toe footwear.
