CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline, overlooking the beautiful Corpus Christi Bay, is the largest and most comprehensive acute care medical facility in the region. Position Overview:

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Cardiovascular department at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Shoreline. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to assigned patients under the direction of a physician, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the CV ICU and acute Inpatient CV Units.
  • Act as a first assist in CV Surgery cases in the Operating Room. Vein harvesting experience preferred.
  • Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices to give patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of direct patient care and consult with specialists as necessary.
  • Adjust nursing care processes to optimize patient outcomes and provide the highest standard of care.
  • Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services as ordered for patients.
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of patient medical records.
  • Provide preventative health care services to long-term patients and coordinate consultations and referrals as required.
  • Perform physical exams and prescribe treatments and medications within scope of practice.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced Nursing Degree or Master's Degree required.
  • Current Texas State Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license or PA license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR), American Heart Association.
  • Experience in the specialty area (CV ICU, CV OR).
  • Experience in both clinical and management areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and market services effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong team-oriented approach and interdepartmental collaboration based on CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) principles.
