We seek a Licensed Insurance Agent in New Jersey with extensive knowledge of New Jersey insurance laws and regulations, and proven experience in both personal lines and commercial lines insurance. This is a hybrid working environment and the ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, with a strong understanding of the New Jersey insurance market and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Advise clients on appropriate personal and commercial insurance policies based on their needs and risk profile.
  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal policies in accordance with New Jersey law and carrier guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations and agency policies.
  • Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and local market knowledge.
  • Maintain and grow a portfolio of clients while offering professional, prompt, and courteous service.
  • Assist Spanish-speaking clients with policy selection, claims processes, and general insurance education.
  • Handle policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to facilitate effective communication and service resolution.
  • Stay current with changes in state regulations, carrier products, and industry trends.
Experience & Abilities:
  • Active New Jersey Property & Casualty Insurance License (Required)
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in both personal lines and commercial lines insurance
  • Strong understanding of New Jersey-specific insurance laws and regulations
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with agency management systems and insurance quoting platforms
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Deep knowledge of the New Jersey insurance market, including regional risks, carrier options, and client demographics
  • Experience with multiple insurance carriers and a wide variety of policy types
  • Background in customer retention and upselling/cross-selling strategies
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and digital communication tools
