Job Description

The Landscape Architecture Intern at Ground Works Land Design will support the design and execution of high-end residential outdoor living projects. This role provides hands‑on exposure to the full design process—from site analysis and concept development to construction documentation and project coordination. This position will work directly with our Director of Design, offering a unique opportunity for mentorship, real‑time feedback, and direct involvement in high‑level design work. Duties / Responsibilities: Assist in developing landscape design concepts, plans, and presentations Support the creation of site plans, layouts, and renderings using design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.) Conduct site measurements, documentation, and analysis to inform design decisions Assist in material selection, including hardscape, plantings, and outdoor features Collaborate with the Director of Design and team members to ensure designs align with client goals, budget, and feasibility Support project coordination by helping organize drawings, revisions, and documentation Participate in client meetings, site visits, and internal design reviews Maintain organization of design files, project assets, and documentation Qualifications / Experience: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools Strong design sensibility with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow within a team environment Interest in high‑end residential design and outdoor living spaces What Success Looks Like: Contributes to design development with attention to detail and creativity Produces accurate and organized drawings, layouts, and supporting materials Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration with design and production teams Gains a clear understanding of how designs translate into built environments Takes initiative, asks questions, and actively seeks to improve skills How This Role Fits Into the Organization: This role works closely with the Director of Design, as well as the sales and production teams, to support the planning and execution of projects. The Landscape Architecture Intern plays a key role in assisting with design deliverables and ensuring alignment between design intent and field execution.
