The CDI seeks a dynamic Detective with recent state peace‑officer experience investigating auto, workers’ compensation, property, and casualty insurance fraud and capable of producing clear and concise correspondence and investigative reports. Under the supervision of a Supervising Fraud Investigator I, investigators are assigned law‑enforcement responsibilities of varying complexity and volume, from entry level to highly complex duties and casework. They conduct criminal investigations of felony violations of State and Federal law relating to insurance fraud and white‑collar crime, work independently, with a team, or as a lead investigator on criminal enterprises and profitable schemes, and assist in prosecution in both State and Federal courts. Investigators perform a full range of peace‑officer duties per California Penal Code § 830.3. Responsibilities Conduct criminal investigations of felony insurance fraud and white‑collar crime. Investigate auto, workers’ compensation, property, and casualty insurance fraud. Produce clear and concise investigative reports. Work alone, with a team, or as lead investigator on complex criminal enterprises. Assist in prosecution of cases in State and Federal courts. Execute peace‑officer duties in accordance with California Penal Code § 830.3. Qualifications & Requirements Recent experience in state service as a peace officer. Background investigation clearance. Medical clearance. Psychological evaluation clearance. Knowledge of State and Federal laws related to insurance fraud. Ability to conduct investigations and produce reports. POST completion required for limited‑term appointments; permanent appointment upon POST completion. Valid California driver license. Optional: Resume.
