Built on the belief that every child has the ability to leap beyond expectations, our program features 12 uniquely themed weeks, sensory-supportive spaces, predictable daily routines, and differentiated activities spanning STEM, art, music, and outdoor exploration.

We are seeking 12 highly compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Camp Counselors for our inaugural summer (June 1 August 21, 2026). As a Camp Counselor, you will be the heart of the camper experience guiding a small group of campers through daily activities and ensuring they are engaged, regulated, and having fun!

Are you a special education teacher looking for fulfilling summer work? Or a college student studying autism, early childhood education, special education, or a related field? If you have a heart for inclusive education and love making kids smile, this is the perfect role for you!

Responsibilities
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and emotionally safe environment for all campers, recognizing and celebrating their unique abilities.
  • Guide your group through a predictable daily schedule that includes STEM, art, gross motor play, and sensory breaks.
  • Utilize a differentiated engagement model to ensure every camper can participate at their own pace and ability level.
  • Uphold camp rules with integrity and discipline, ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child at all times.
  • Be silly, playful, and enthusiastic lead camp songs, wear costumes for the weekly theme, and make sure kids are having the time of their lives.
  • Implement positive behavior strategies, visual schedules, and sensory integration techniques as trained.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow counselors, camp leadership, and specialized staff to support the needs of the group.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to balance being highly organized and disciplined with being silly and playful.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check prior to employment.
  • Must be able to commit to the full summer schedule (June 1 August 21, 2026), or specified weeks as agreed upon.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with children with special needs (Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, etc.).
  • Currently a student enrolled in or holding a degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field.

Ideal Candidate Profiles:

  • Special Education teachers or paraprofessionals seeking rewarding summer employment.
  • College students on summer break studying a related field.
  • Someone who genuinely LOVES working with kids.
Benefits / What We Offer
  • Comprehensive training in inclusive practices, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), visual supports, and positive behavior strategies.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in the community.
  • A joyful, supportive workplace where creativity and silliness are celebrated.
  • Team Pizza Parties
  • Camp Counselor Incentives/Friendly Challenges

Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:30 AM 3:30 PM (Camp hours: 9:00 AM 3:00 PM) June 1 August 21, 2026
