In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA to provide exceptional support and care to our clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Our office in Amarillo provides caregivers for the Panhandle area including Amarillo, Claude, Hereford, Dumas, Borger, Fritch, Canyon, Pampa , and many others.

In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA Duties - Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health or behavior.
- Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any concerns or changes in client status.
In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA Experience Candidates should have experience in caregiving or related fields, including but not limited to:
- Home health or hospice care experience.
- Working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
- Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.
