Donor Prospect Research Specialist (Advancement Professional I) Classification: Advancement Professional I Department: Central Development Salary Range: $4,799 - $4,895 per month Appointment Type: Temporary Time Base: Full Time Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; occasional early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours. This position is temporary to end on or before June 30, 2027, with potential renewal. Job Summary We are seeking an exceptional individual to serve as a Donor Prospect Research Specialist under the general direction of the Director of Prospect Management and Strategy. The role supports University Advancement by conducting research, analysis, and reporting on individuals, corporations, and foundations to inform fundraising strategies and enhance donor engagement. Responsibilities Analyze existing constituent data to identify new prospects. Conduct research and prepare in-depth prospect reports. Support strategic fundraising initiatives, including campus-wide comprehensive or capital campaigns. Maintain prospect pools and guide data‑driven fundraising strategies. Distribute prospect portfolio and report distributions to University Advancement staff. Gather, compile, and analyze prospect research data. Assist in coordination of prospect identification, donor prospect reporting, and analysis. Handle general office coordination, travel, and procurement card tracking. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field, or education/experience that demonstrates successful application of needed knowledge and skills. Under direct supervision, perform entry‑level technical and professional work in advancement, including collecting and analyzing data, producing reports, assisting in advancement activities, representing the university, and ensuring compliance with regulations and laws. Ability to follow guidelines and provide input and feedback, work independently and as part of a team, and maintain a donor and stakeholder service‑oriented approach. Strong attention to detail, analytical and math skills, organizational abilities, and proficiency with technology and relevant software packages. Preferred Qualifications Experience with research and data analysis, using tools such as ResearchPoint, LexisNexis, and WealthEngine. Experience in nonprofit or public organizations that receive donated funds, understanding solicitation, allocation, and usage of those funds. Knowledge in creating biographical research profiles and maintaining confidentiality of prospect information. Proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and RE software, engagement scoring, machine learning donor modeling, or network analysis.
