Cost Accountant\n\nTimpl has partnered with a tier 1 supplier for GM and Chrysler to recruit a Cost\nAccountant as below:\n\n\nTitle: Accountant\nEmployment Type: Full-time, Permanent\nJob Summary:\nThe Cost Accountant will evaluate profitability, identify manufacturing\nvariances and develop corrective recommendations in order to assist in the\ntimely completion of month-end close activities and reporting requirements. The\nCost Accountant will also be accountable for the ongoing analysis of the\nstandard costing process and the impact on margin and manufacturing variances.\nReporting to the Accounting Manager, the individual in this role will work as a\nmember of the finance team to establish departmental and company objectives.\n\n\nJob Responsibilities:\n• Maintains parts files; creates a new bill of material and updates finished\ngood parts file.\n• Prepares daily or weekly reports of variances, which enables plant management\nto "manage" the plant\n• Established costs and inputs bill of material.\n• Assist with the budget process.\n• Serves as back-up for Accounts Payable.\n• Balance sheet accounts reconciliation.\n• Processes timekeeping records for payroll.\n• Assists with Government reports, taxes, insurance, capital requests, and other\nspecial projects\n• Provides direct supervision to subordinates, including making hiring/firing\ndecisions, providing training and development opportunities, and conducting\nperformance reviews and coaching sessions,\n• Responsible for reporting daily inventory Key Performance Indicators.\n• Perform analytical review of financial results and understand factors driving\nvariance.\n• Is responsible for all inventory transactions.\n\n\nJob Requirements:\n• Bachelor's degree required.\n• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial\nmarkets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
