As a Bilingual Special Education Teacher at The Menta Education Group, you will have the freedom and ability to educate a small classroom of students in a self-contained setting. Our social-emotional learning environments offer engaged and inquiry-based academics combined with a P.B.I.S. structure.
REQUIRED: IL PEL (Professional Educator's License) with LBS1 Special Education endorsement & must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish.

ResponsibilitiesAbout Menta Academy Midway
Menta Academy Midway promotes independence in students by creating a learning environment that fosters individualization and planning. The program provides support for English and non-English speaking children with disabilities by focusing on the whole child in their native language. Collaborative and data-based problem-solving approaches are utilized to develop appropriate interventions and progress monitoring.
The classrooms integrate evidence-based strategies from the Structured Teaching Model developed by Division TEACCH, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Physical structure, visual schedules, work systems, communication systems, and sensory supports are thoughtfully integrated to optimize student success.
Midway serves students in grades K-12 and those transitioning from school to life ages 18-21. Disabilities served include autism, emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, other health impairments, traumatic brain injury, and multiple disabilities.
